Just a beginning

I am your typical high school nerd. 14 year old freshman, among the youngest in my class, I'm in 4 different honors classes, acing all of them. I'm also big in the music program. Most people put me off as that smart, annoying, weird one. But for the people who think that, need to remember it's none of their business, and I have friends that love me as much as I love them. Of course, I will change names here... But it will be just the same...
So, to start, it's the middle of the holiday vacation from school. I only have one project! But, it's for one of my least favorite classes, science. We have to build a car that must travel using a mouse trap, and it must reach 40cm. Hard? Possibly. However, I have an older brother in college to be an engineer who can help me out, if I ever see him. Between him sleeping until noon, or going out with his friends, or taking 2 hour showers, I never get much time to talk to him. I should get started, maybe tomorrow. Yeah, right.
As any typical young high school student, I can't drive. Therefor, I have no life. I only have plans once for this whole weak. And of course, that's New Years Eve. Everyone has plans on New Years Eve. I'll be going over my friend Sally's aunt's house to help babysit her little cousin. Then I will be sleeping over. Sally has been one of my best friends since first grade! We've had our ups and downs of course, but we've been through so much together, I don't think we will never truly not be friends. I love her. She helps me get through my toughest problems, and vice versa.
